Today, we want to take a moment to honor someone who dedicated her life to that very purpose: Charlotte Harper, the beloved grandmother of our founder—a name now carried forward with love by our founder’s daughter.
Charlotte served as a 911 dispatcher for Henry County, Georgia, until her retirement. For years, she was the calm voice on the other end of the line during moments of crisis—the first point of contact for those in need of help. Her dedication, empathy, and unwavering commitment to her community made a profound difference in countless lives. Every call she answered, every voice she reassured, was a testament to her selfless nature.
Her heart for public service was matched by her husband, Sidney Harper—our founder’s grandfather—who proudly served as a firefighter for Henry County until his retirement. Grandaddy Sidney faced danger head-on, always ready to run toward the smoke and flames when others ran away. He was not only a protector but a teacher, mentor, and quiet hero whose courage and work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His calm strength and humble bravery were the perfect complement to Charlotte’s steady compassion.
Together, they formed a powerful team committed to protecting their community, each in their own way. Their shared legacy of service, sacrifice, and strength lives on in the mission and values of Last Mann Standing L.L.C.
Though the Lord called Grandma Charlotte home in December 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer, the legacy of her faithful service—and Grandaddy Sidney’s bravery—continues to inspire and guide us through His grace. Their commitment to the safety and well-being of others resonates deeply with our mission.
